Computer Arts New Talent Issue 2019
After displaying my project in the Central Saint Martins 2019 Degree Show 2: Design, I was featured and printed in Computer Arts’ August New Talent issue in a selection of ‘the UK’s rising stars, the best graduates to hire in 2019’.
The feature reads: ‘Alastair fondly describes Central Saint Martins as “one of the best and most diverse arts universities in the world: there’s so much to appreciate and learn from what people bring to the table from across the globe.” His project, Beyond the Macrocosm, combines a publication and a series of 3D animations, adapted into a VR experience, that together explore the possibilities of virtual space.
“Inspired by the illusory work of MC Escher, the project shows the potential of virtual world-building as a means to visualise the intangible and the complex, and to illustrate beyond what we know to exist,” Vanes explains.’
